Latest Beauty Purchases, May 2012

I’ve been looking for a shower cap for a long time.  Not just any shower cap… a cute shower cap.  I’m one of those lovely ladies who don’t like to wash their hair every time they shower (yum!).  My thick, coarse hair doesn’t really need it though, it looks best the second day after washing anyway.  I found this cute cap at Sally’s! I’ve been searching for pure essential oils everywhere in this dang town, and I finally found them at Mother Nature’s Health Market (local people, you MUST hit up this store!).  I wanted to get a bunch, but I settled on my favorite two, lavender and orange.  I can’t wait to start putting them in things!

I also picked up the shea butter at that same Health Market.  Again, something I’ve been searching high and low for.  I’m going to use it to make lotions (still trying to perfect my recipe).  I think this stuff will be my golden ticket!

On top there is my new hairbrush from Sonia Kashuk.  The pink is limited edition, but the original looks like a knock off of the Mason Pearson brush.

And lastly, what’s that in the plastic bag?  No, it’s not fish eggs.  It’s bees-wax!  It’s for my next project, making lip balm!  Post to come!

I hope you guys are looking and feeling your best today, I’ll talk to you soon!

XO Kayla

  1. I just bought beeswax too! Making your own products is so much fun. I also love lavendar essential oil. I get it from the farmers’ market.

    • I didn’t realize you can get stuff like that there! I’m just getting into the whole organic thing. First it started with cosmetics, then body care, and now it’s transitioned over into my diet. I love following you blog, I get lots of tips from you!
