So I’ve been trying to train for marathon the past couple weeks. Week #1: pulled groin. I rested and let it heal for a week, then was ready to get back to work. Week #2: injured knee. Really. Really?! Is there something in the universe that is telling me that I shouldn’t do this? I’m remaining positive, at least for the time being (even though my body is cooperating). On to the beauty. . .
It’s the Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo.
Not Your Mother’s says: A salon formula dry shampoo that will have you and your hair ready for a night out on the town. $5.99 for 7.0oz.
I’ll start off by saying, I hate washing my hair. That may sound gross to some of you, but if you have long, thick, coarse hair, you feel me (haay!). It just takes up more time in the shower, and I like to get in and get out. Therefore, anything can prolong the not-washing process is worth trying in my book. When I first discovered dry shampoos, I was so excited (that meant there were other non-washers out there, whoop!). I tried several, and while they did a decent job of giving me at least one day of not-hairwashing, they left my hair feeling grimey (dirty of thickly covered with ingrained dirt).
I found this on Pinterest and immediately went out to buy it. I’m so glad that I did, it’s my favorite dry shampoo yet! The aerosol can make it easy to apply, just press and spray onto your roots. Depending on how much you apply, it may leave a little bit of light color (which is problematic for us dark-haired gals). Have no fear, just brush through your roots, or rub in with your clean fingers. Poof. Clean hair.
The product does what it says: absorbs oil, cleans (err, makes your hair look clean…), and has a matte finish. It does have a baby powder-ish scent, but it doesn’t linger around long after application. If you’re not a fan of hairwashing (even though society says we must do so) I highly recommend this product.
Where: Any Not Your Mother’s retailer (CVS, Walgreens) or here online. Price: $5.99 for 7.0oz.
Have you tried dry shampoos? How many times a week do you wash your hair?
