How to: Make eyeliner last in your waterline

The waterline: the rim that surrounds your eye, inside in the lash line.  There’s an upper and lower waterline (sometimes called the upper/lower rim).  Lining this part of the eye can intensify your eye makeup look, making it really stand out.  However, since this part of the eye is, well, watery, it typically fades quickly.  This is the method that I use to help it last for hours!

*DISCLAIMER: Please do not try this if you have dry or sensitive eyes.  I would also not recommend this method for contact lens wearers.*

Pencil: Ruby Kisses 24 Hr Eye Define in Very Black. Gel: MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack

Take any pencil eyeliner and dip it into a gel liner.  The best gel liners that I’ve used are MACs Fluidline and the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel LinerThe quality of the pencil liner does not matter as much as the quality of the gel liner that you’re using.  A quality gel liner will help ensure that your liner will last longer.

You don’t need much gel liner on the tip, just enough to cover the rim of your eye.  You can also mix and match colors, for example, use a green pencil to apply a black gel and vice versa.  Be careful not to cake it on because it can irritate your eyes.

How do get your liner to last in the inner rim?  Have you tried this method?

Drink water. Wear SPF.
