Up until recently, lip liners have never been my “thing.” I often use them on clients but rarely for myself. The other day I was experimenting with my makeup (as I often do) and I decided to get out my stash of lip liners. I normally just use them under lipstick to extend the wear time (for clients). After playing around, I discovered how much fun it is to layer different lip colors on top of liners! I whipped out some lipsticks that I NEVER wear and got to work. Check out how this deep plum liner revolutionized (yep, that’s right, the R word) some old lipsticks:
The plum lip liner is a warm brick purple. Chloe is a cool magenta with a blue iridescent sheen finish. Sparkling Dusty Rose is a warm, light peachy pink with tiny flecks of silver glitter and a silver sheen finish.
See how it really makes the lipstick “pop?” My camera had a hard time picking up the color, but in person the finished lip is very bold.
I love the way these compliment each other. The Sparkling Dusty Rose is a tad too light and frosty for my taste, so I never wear it. Paired with the plum liner, it makes the perfect combo of red and pink!
Where: Ulta, Amazon (Plum, Chloe
, Sparkling Dusty Rose
). Price: $3.49/0.04oz (Plum), $3.99/0.14oz (Chloe), $5.50/0.15oz (Sparkling Dusty Rose).
Do you use lip liner? If so, how often? Any favorites?
