What I’ve been up to: January 2013

What a year it’s been already!  My blogging schedule has been off due to… well, life.  This coming year, I want my blog to include some more personal stuff.  So to help me achieve that goal, I’ve taken some photos from my Instagram to share with you guys.

The BIGGEST news:  I completed 1000 hour esthetics program in the state of Kansas.  In other words… I GRADUATED on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:30am!

I studied hard for my final.  I had been there for a year, so some of my knowledge was a little rusty.

A lot of my “studying” involved listening to Pandora and sitting on Pinterest.

I practiced giving the practical part of the exam several times.  It involves giving a crappy facial and sanitizing my hands 2,864 times.

After all of that was said and done, I cleaned out my locker.  Yes, I took a picture of my locker…

G’bye locker that I never actually locked…

Then, at 11:30am on the dot… I clocked out my last clock hour.  Count ’em:  that’s one zero zero zero zero, a thousand hours!

Some of my lovely classmates and instructors made a bridge for me before I punched in my #

After that, we had a little party over lunchtime.  We had a “pink” party, so all of the food was pink!  Including smoked salmon!

Pink food.

Delicious cookie from one of my favorite classmates.

I got pictures with all of my classmates.  However, everyone had that “if you show this to anyone I’ll kill you” attitude about their photo.  Although my little Margo is always flawless even without a stitch of makeup.  She sucks.  But I love her to pieces :)

Since I don’t go to school full-time anymore (that took up 32 hours of my week) I’ve been keeping myself busy.  This past weekend I celebrated my graduation with my bffs from Larkspur.

Unintentionally looking like we’re on a cruise.

I know not everyone has the same experience going through school, whether if it’s for cosmetology or esthetics.  Typically with these types of programs there is a lot of drama (get a bunch of women together that that’s what happens).  However, in my case, I was lucky enough to be with a wonderful group of ladies.  Something just “clicked” and I made some great friends.  Although I’m ready for the next step in my life, I’ll miss my friends so much.

Almost everyone, missing some of the part-time day girls.

Although I’ve completed school, I still have to take my boards to get my esthetics license.  It’ll probably be about a month before I have to take that.  I’m ready, bring it!

On to the next step!

Drink water. Wear SPF.

    • Well thank you Tami! I appreciate your comment. I feel like anytime you get a bunch of girls together, there will be some sort of drama. That’s just the way it is! What state are you licensed in?
