Spring has finally sprung here in Kansas City. I’ve been driving with my sunroof down and listening to more Ke$ha than I’d like to admit. What can I say, I’m tired of wearing leggings and boots. I’m ready for jean shorts, sun dresses, and open toed shoes
The highs have been in the upper fifties and lower sixties this week. Not quite mini-skirt-ready, but still warm enough to whip out some new spring lippies!
For additional pictures and swatches,
Hard Candy Shockingly Glossy Lip Pencil, Cupcake: This cheap little gem is an easy way to wear coral without it being orange. It has the opacity of a lipstick, the only downside is the short wear time. Wal-Mart, Amazon.
Maybelline Color Whisper, Cherry on Top: My newest fave everyday lippie. I throw this on when I want to be sort of bold, but no really bold. Semi-bold, if you will. Drugstores, Amazon.
NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil, New Lover: This is a darker pink, it looks brown based. On the lips, the golden sheen really stands out. This is a good color for anyone, but more mature ladies may like it because it’s not so bright. Sephora, Amazon.
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter, Starwberry Shortcake: This isn’t my everyday go-to, it’s a bit light for me to wear on its own. I like to throw on a light layer of this over a bold lip color to tone it down. Drugstores, Amazon.
MAC Cremesheen Glass, Fashion Scoop: Cremesheen Glasses are a milky, creamier version of MAC’s Lipglasses. This one is very sheer, but adds just a touch of pink and shimmer to the natural pink in my lips. It’s an easy muted lip without having to wear nude. MAC, Amazon.
