Makeup for Beginners, Vol. 4: Blush

12 Sep

What is it?

Blush is a pink/red toned cosmetic that is applied to the cheeks to add color.  It comes in powder, creme, liquid and gel form.

What does it do?

Blush adds color to the face, mimicking the natural tendency to “flush”  with color.  It adds definition and shape to the face.  It instantly brightens up a dull complexion!

How do I use it?

Apply to the apples of the cheek and blend up towards the top of the ear.  Be careful to not go below the nostrils of the nose or inside the center pupil of the eye.

Pro tip:  An easy way to find the apple of your cheek = SMILE!  It’s the “fleshy” area. :)

Physicians Formula Kajal Eyeliner, Review

4 Sep

I’ve had good luck with other kajal liners that I’ve tried, will this one be the same?

Physicians Formula says:  Highly pigmented inner rim eyeliner trio delivers rich color and instant drama.  Versatile eyeliner for eye enhancing definition and inner eye rim intensity.  Super- smooth gliding texture makes defining eyes effortless.  100% Waterproof wear.  Apply eyeliner at the base of upper lashes and on inside of lower eye rim for ultra-dramatic definition. Layer shades together for endless looks.  They are $10.95 for 0.09oz.

Overall:  The packaging creates some issues with its large tip and inability to sharpen it.  I tried wearing these several different ways, as eyeliner, as eyeshadow, as an eyeshadow base, setting with powder, layering, and I didn’t have much luck with any of the methods.  On the bright side, they are all smooth and pigmented when applied and the colors are beautiful.  The black and the green are the best performing shades, with the longest wear time (about 3 hours before fading).

Glitter Rating: 1.5 / 5
